Debt solutions in the UK

Does your debt feel like too much to handle? You are not alone. In the UK there are several formal routes out of debt — each one works differently and is designed for a different situation. We explain them in plain English and help you choose the right one for you, free of charge.

Where to startHow do you choose the right solution?

When debts become too much to carry, a formal debt solution helps you regain control of
your finances. These are structured ways of dealing with what you owe
differing in how much legal protection they give, how long they last, and whether part of
the debt is written off.

There is no single solution that is right for everybody. The right route depends on your
individual circumstances: the size and type of your debt, your income, your
assets and — importantly — which part of the UK you live in. The rules in
Scotland differ from those in England and Wales, so not every solution is available
everywhere.

Not sure which solution is right for you? That is completely normal. During a
free, no-obligation consultation an advisor will review your situation
and suggest the best option. It does not affect your credit score until you accept the
solution that is proposed.
